The Jewish Response To Racism

Picture
The hard-fought 2016 presidential campaign laid bare a national divide on a wide range of policy concerns and has energized a dangerous segment of our populace whose hateful rhetoric advanced from the margins to the mainstream. In response they'll discuss the connections and distinctions between racism and antisemitism, as well as the Jewish community’s responsibility to the fight for racial justice. The event takes place at the Temple Emanu-El Streicker Center, 10 East 66th Street, New York, NY 10065, on March 15 from 7-8:30pm.

The event is free, but you must RSVP HERE. If you would like to join us, email Robin Herman after signing up. See the Facebook event for additional details.

Learning Happy Hour

Picture
Join us for some drinks and some Jewish learning on 3/29 at 7pm at The Bonnie. You can come to either portion - No stress! This month we will be joined by Rachel D. Goldenberg from Malkhut.

What we will be learning:
In the story of our Exodus from Egypt, the Israelites and Pharaoh both experience major heart problems! Spirits are crushed, hearts are hardened - what does this all mean, and how are these experiences mirrored in our own lives and the world? We will study texts from the Torah and from contemporary Buddhist and Mindfulness teachers as we explore these questions.

Learning at 7:15pm ~ Chatting and drinking at 8:30pm

For more info see the Facebook event or contact Sam Schachter.

And as always, our potlucks are pareve/dairy only. Have questions for those attending? Go ahead and post them on the Facebook event.
