VOLUNTEER COOKING AT  BJ/SPSA WOMEN'S SHELTER

​WJOA will be preparing a meal for the B'nai Jeshurun(BJ)/Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew(SPSA) Women's Homeless Shelter on Sunday, January 22 from 2-4:30pm. The food is generously being provided by board member, Jenna Winstars-Herzog. Please RSVP by 1/19 via email if you would like to lend a hand. Here's the Facebook page too!

A NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM

Come join us for for a Pay-What-You-Wish night at the Jewish Museum on 2/2 from 5-8pm to see 
The Television Project:You Don't Have To Be Jewish. This exhibit "explores advertising produced for Jewish audiences or with Jewish audiences or with Jewish content, and examines the way religion,ethnicity, and identity play out on American television". Brian Mawyerwill be there to greet you. BOOK CLUB BRUNCH

The votes are in, and the book The Sisters Weiss by Naomi Ragen has been selected.

We'll be meeting for brunch on 3/5 at 12pm to share our thoughts on the novel. Email Jonah Schrogin for the covert location. Facebook invite posting soon.

​Community Meeting

Our community meetings are events where you can discuss any issues, concerns, or suggestions directly with the board and fellow community members. Alternatively, if you don't have anything you'd like to discuss with us, you're more than welcome to just hang out and listen to us plan the next happy hour, shabbat dinner, etc. Even if you can't attend the meeting, please fill out our brief survey.

​It will be held on Sunday, 1/8 at 6:00pm at the home of Rebecca & Oren Friedman. Feel free to bring a bissel of nosh to share while we schmooze. Email Rebecca for location.Have questions to post? See ourFacebook event!

Shabbat Potluck

​Please join us for our next Shabbat services and potluck. It will be held at the home of Karen Shulman & David Druce on Friday, January 13th. Kindly email Karen for the address and to get the signup sheet (for what you're bringing). And as always, our potlucks are vege/dairy only. Check out who's going on the Facebook page!

​Martin Luther King Jr. Day Of Service

Come join us in making a difference as we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day as a day of service at the Central Queens Y in Forest Hills. The 8 different activities being offered are: sorting food & personal care items, mural projects, serving lunch to seniors, benefits counseling, and visiting seniors.
