Roommate Wanted!

Two chill guys from WJOA are looking for a third roommate in the Ditmars/Steinway area starting in September or October. The room is small, but comes with an AC unit. The apartment has a porch, large living room, a big tv, full bar, and a nice record player with a lot of jazz and prog rock LPs. There are also 1.5 bathrooms, so sharing is rarely an issue. Rent is $800/month.

Donate Food

One of our favorite local groups is Astoria Fridges, community fridges that provide free, accessible food to the Astoria community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have an excess of food, donate some to an Astoria Fridge near you (click here for a map of locations).

Astoria Food Pantry is located at 25-82 Steinway Street, and accepts donations (read details here).  As the world reopens and "normalcy" returns, donations to mutual aids have slowed down but their line is longer than it has ever been. In fact, AFP had to send folks away last week. They only have one week of funds remaining. Donate to help them get up to 3 weeks of funding!

If you would like to donate but going in-person presents a barrier, feel free to get in touch with Meredith, who is both a WJOA member and Astoria Food Pantry volunteer.
