Iftar Interfeast - Astoria The Wandering Jews of Astoria is excited to partner with the Muslim-Jewish Solidarity Committee for a Ramadan Iftar meal and gathering on Thursday, May 30 at 7pm. This is the meal with which Muslims end their daily Ramadan fast at sunset. This is a special opportunity to break the fast with new friends, and enjoy a discussion sharing our personal stories. WJOA June Shabbat Potluck On Friday, June 7, WJOA's Kabbalat Shabbat will be in the great outdoors in the backyard of Rebecca and Andrew. Join us for Shabbat services at 7pm, followed by our vegetarian potluck dinner around 8pm. Feel free to join us for services, just dinner, or both! Procedure: e-mail to RSVP. They will send you the address and a spreadsheet; use the latter to tell us what vegetarian delicacy you're bringing for the potluck dinner. 🌃🙏😎🌛🍷🕯🥣 Shavuot with Malkut On Saturday, June 8, WJOA will be joining our friends at Malkhut to celebrate Shavuot, our holiday to stay up late and study the Torah ALL night. Just kidding (kind of) but we will be up learning various topics from our Malkhut friends and a few Wandering Jews. More details to come soon! WJOA June Book Club The next book we will read for WJOA Book club in June is "All Who Go Do Not Return" by Shulem Deen (288 pages). We will meet on Sunday, June 30 at 12 noon for a book club discussion and a potluck brunch. Please reach out to Jonah to RSVP and for any questions. The Wandering Jews of Astoria would like to invite you to celebrate WJOA's 10 Year Anniversary!!!! This is a big deal and we are so happy to share it with you, and all community members, near and far.
