Happy Hour + Movie Night

Tuesday, May 14, 6:30pm
The Ditty, 35-03 Ditmars Blvd, Astoria

Join WJOA in meeting up for Happy Hour and Movie Night at The Ditty. Does anyone remember, "My Best Friend's Wedding?" Think 90's and Julia Roberts! Definitely a comedy that is ready for a re-watch or might become your new favorite movie. We will start out meeting for Happy Hour at 6:30pm. The Ditty's official Happy Hour goes until 7pm with discounted cocktails and beer. Movie start time isn't until 8:30pm! So you can decide if you want to just come by for drinks and dinner, or stay for the movie. Here is the food menu at The Ditty. Please RSVP to Jennifer, so she can save you a seat. Here is the Facebook event.

Old Croton Aqueduct Walk

Sunday, May 19, 11am
Old Croton Aqueduct State Historic Park

Join Wandering Jews of Astoria for this day trip out of Queens. We will wander along the Old Croton Aqueduct Trail in Westchester County. The trail is mostly flat, but unpaved, and accessible by public transportation (Metro-North and Westchester buses). As a group, we will plan to walk about 3.5 miles together from Hastings-on-Hudson to Irvington, but it is easy to cut the walk short or to add on more. The group will meet at the Harlem 125th Street Metro-North Station at 11:20am in order to catch the 11:33am train to Hastings-on-Hudsons. We will eat lunch together in Hastings-on-Hudson (exact location TBD) and then walk north to Irvington, where folks can either catch the Metro-North train back to the city or continue walking north to the next town(s) (the full trail is 42 miles, and mostly accessible by transit, so there is plenty to see!). Between travel, lunch, and the walk to Irvington, we should be back at 125th Street by 4pm. RSVP to Laura if you are interested in joining. For more information, here is the Facebook event.
